Student Poem

Hayley Leroy, Southern Door Student

Sometimes I wonder

If the stardust

And clouds of thunder

Pound in our veins

Rushing in torrents

Of gentle pain

And exploding in our chests

With every wondrous breath

When I look up

At the scattering of the stars

In a dreamless sky

And all the fear

Bids me goodbye

I think all I see

Is a majestic reflection

Of what lies so deep inside

Of me
