Cinco de Mayo was on Sunday, May 5th. However, most people have a misconception of what this day represents. Most Americans assume that Cinco de Mayo is Mexico’s independence day, yet it celebrates the Battle of Puebla. The Battle of Puebla was when the outnumbered Mexican army defeated the French resulting in them retreating.
