Maybe I am the night sky
Always outshone by the sunshine
Content to bask in the moonlight
Because there are stories
Written in these stars
And the darkness
Somehow heals my scars
Constellations may be hard to see
But that could be
The maddening complexity that is me
I am quiet and enduring
Like the night sky
And I never quite ceased to fight
For I was strong
But they said I was wrong
To love the dusk more than the dawn
Yet I persisted
On and on
Stretching my wings, learning to fly
Through the endless expanse of starry sky
And my moonlight
Became so bright
That I outshone their sunshine
